Medical Devices Issued on Order

If you have health insurance in Poland, you are eligible for reimbursement for medical devices. These include: prosthetic limbs, orthoses, crutches, wheelchairs, hearing aids, wigs, catheters, and anti-bedsore mattresses.

Medical Device Co-financing

You can obtain co-financing from the National Health Fund if you receive a purchase order from an authorized person. Details are specified in the regulation on the list of medical devices issued on order. For example:

an ophthalmologist – a request for optical aids for the visually impaired;

an otolaryngologist – a request for a hearing aid;

a urologist, surgeon, neurologist, or primary care physician – diaper pads.
